Health Benefits of Lychee Black Tea
Science has underestimated the health benefits of black tea. Black tea, like green tea, has flavonoids and antioxidant properties that help to prevent cell damage that leads to a variety of cancers.
Another benefit of black tea is that it can help to reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes by improving the ability of blood vessels to relax and decreasing the likelihood of life threatening blood clots.
"A recent study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that those who drank about one and a half cups of black tea a day cut their risk of heart attack in half compared to those who didn't drink any at all." 1
In a study of 50 patients with heart disease, participants were asked to drink 4 cups of black tea each day for a month. "What we found was after drinking (black) tea, blood vessel function improved significantly", said Dr Joseph Vita of Boston University Medical Center. 2
