Brewster Tree Split by High Winds

Bifurcated trees can split more easily

Winds of nearly 130 miles per hour can split even the dense hard wood of a Brewster lychee tree. The split portion will be chainsawed smooth and then white washed to give it some protection from the sun. You should not apply sealant to the exposed wood as this can seal in moisture and pathogens such as fungi.
