Banannas are excellent windbreaks
Fast growing banannas can and should be used as windbreaks for young lychee trees. The single biggest problem with young lychees is wind damage to nwe flushes of growth. Bannanas provide some windbreak, shade against the harsh Florida sun and organic material from decaying corms and leaves.
